What is the Sew Sampler Box?

The Sew Sampler box is one of my favorite monthly subscription boxes. It always has super cute and new fabric along with a bunch of sewing notions and I look forward to seeing what’s in each box.

The Sew Sampler Box is a monthly subscription quilting box that delivers surprise goodies right to your door! It’s $24.95/month and the boxes ship on the 20th of each month. There are at least 5 specially chosen items which may include fabric, notions, patterns, thread, and anything else full of quilty goodness! You’ll also receive a Block Recipe card each month with three size options. These can be put together for a super cute sampler quilt! You can purchase previous recipe cards here.

If you’re new to sewing or quilting these are a great way to build up your stash of fabrics, patterns, and notions. Especially if you’re unsure of what to get to start out. I have been receiving the Sew Sampler boxes for 2 years now and have loved almost all of them!

True confession: I don’t actually like pumpkin spice. Unless it’s someplace it would normally be, like in a pumpkin pie. In the past, I have tried to conjure excited feelings about Starbucks autumn specialty coffees, such as Pumpkin Spice Latte, but it just doesn’t do it for me.

Of course, the high today is 97. If it were lower, that’d probably help.

What about you? Pumpkin spice, yea or nay?

It’s changed a little over the years, but I still contend this little box is the Best Thing Ever.

Vintage Fall Quilt Pattern

Vintage Fall Quilt Pattern is a post from Confessions of a Homeschooler. If you’ve enjoyed this post, be sure to follow Erica on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, and Google+! Also be sure to stop by her Community to join the discussion or her Store to see her latest items!

Hi everyone! I’m super excited to release my Vintage Fall quilt pattern today! I’ve had so many requests for a fall quilt and I love how this one turned out! And I have a GIVEAWAY for one of you so make sure to read all the way to the bottom!

Fall always makes me think of falling leaves with all of the beautiful changing colors, apple cider, crisp cool air, and an annual trip to the pumpkin patch. And so I really wanted my vintage trucks to be hauling cute little pumpkins along with some fun fall foliage!

I used Farm House II fabric by Figtree for Moda. I also snuck in a few prints from their original Farm House line that I have been saving for a special project.

Vintage Fall Quilt Kit: Catching Stitches quilt shop has generously made Vintage Fall Quilt Kits as well if you’d like to make the same one I did! Make sure to stop by her shop and check it out!

And of course I used my Alphabitties to help keep all of the pieces for this project organized.

For the binding I used the Farm House II black cross print and love the pop it gives!

I also chose to do swirl quilting pattern on it.  but I love the look of the swirls. It reminds me of falling leaves! I’m not a professional quilter, so the pattern isn’t perfect, but honestly I love how it turned out, and love the imperfect and random swirls!

And of course I added a lot of pumpkins to this quilt, because, what is fall with out vintage trucks carting around pumpkins?

I also did a fun row of leaf sashing between the truck rows. I love the added colors and the little leaves are a perfect fall addition.
